the Fedora

Oh… story, maybe mine or some ones. I like it. It somehow has a Milton Erickson feel to it if you used it with a new client who is jealous of rich relatives. To add humour, to lighten things up, to discuss awareness and reality.
You might remember that I live in a part of New Zealand that now is an exclusive area. Just kinda happened for my office and zen center . So I was at a local mall that has a covered walk along the front. A man went to walk by me and I noticed that he had an amazing fedora on. I have one myself that I got in a thrift store and wear it on occasion. I love it. I just had to ask him where he got it. I was just being friendly in my admiration and that was all fine. He laughed and told me a story. He had been in the Southern US somewhere and came across an amazing hat shop haberdashery, He didn’t really think about it and in the end, decided to order a custom fedora. Got measured and such and returned before leaving as his hat was ready. He loved it as it fit perfectly and was very obviously a finely made hat. The store owner/hat maker told him it was $3000. He was only mildly shocked as he loved the hat. The hat that I now admired. It was obvious that spending 3 grand was not a fucking stretch for this man. Later I thought I could have watched to see what car he got in as it likely was a step up from a Mercedes, like classic sports car or so. These were also common in this mall’s parking lot.
